HERRAMIENTAS

  • + Cast Iron Skillet or Griddle
  • + Pot for Parboiling and Frying Potatoes
  • + Baking tray (for bacon)
  • + Bowls, spatula, knife and cutting board

INSTRUCCIONES

Step 1:

Preparations. Boil whole potatoes in salted water. Meanwhile, place the bacon slices on a tray and bake them at 200°C (400°F) for 15-20 minutes until golden and crisp. Don't throw away the fat that comes off! Prepare the special sauce by mixing all your ingredients in a bowl.

Step 2:

The Flesh. In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt, pepper, cumin, garlic powder and oregano. Mix gently, without kneading excessively. Divide the meat in two and form two thin patties, slightly larger than the diameter of the bread.

Step 3:

Tom Cook. Once the potatoes are parboiled, peel them and cut them into wedges. In a very hot iron skillet, melt the butter and toast the breads on the inside. Withdraw. In the same skillet, cook the onion slice until caramelized. Withdraw.

Step 4:

The Taste of Bacon. Pour the reserved bacon fat into the hot skillet. Place the hamburgers and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side. When turning them over, cover each one with the grated mozzarella cheese and cover the pan for a minute to melt. Meanwhile, in another pan, they fry the egg.

Step 5:

The Popes. In a pot with hot oil, fry the potato wedges until golden and crisp. Remove on absorbent paper and season with salt.

Step 6:

The Armed! Spread the special sauce on both sides of the bread. On the base, place the lettuce, the tomato, the caramelized onion, the two cheeseburgers, the crispy bacon and, finally, top with the fried egg. Close with the top cover, cross with a stick so that it does not disassemble and enjoy!

TIPS

  • + Juicy Meat: The secret to a juicy hamburger is not to knead it too much, just enough to integrate the flavors. And very important: never crush it with the spatula while cooking! That only causes it to lose its juices.
  • + Ultra Crunchy Potatoes: The trick of parboiling potatoes before frying them ensures that they are soft on the inside and very crispy on the outside. For a higher level, you can use the double frying technique.
  • + The Power of the Iron: Using a cast iron skillet or a hot griddle is key to achieving that delicious golden crust on meat (the famous Maillard reaction).
  • + The Order of the Factors: When assembling the hamburger, placing the vegetables under the meat helps the juices not soak the bottom bread and it stays firm.
